How it works?
Contact Melissa to schedule a date.
You will be provided with a color flyer to announce the visit and fundraiser, a color flyer to post on social media with ordering directions, and a black and white printable flyer with ordering directions.
The flyer will have a unique code to remove the shipping cost. Books are $11.99 plus tax. Parents will provide the students name, grade level, and teacher.
Books will be sorted and ready to hand out on the day of the author visit.

Melissa Coyle and her adorable dog, Tripp, were a hit at our school! Not only were her presentation and books engaging, but the students also learned about the writing process, the steps of making a book, and interesting facts about Galveston, Texas. Melissa and Tripp are absolute delights! Melissa talks about her writing process and inspires interesting questions from the students. Tripp hangs out and looks amazing and is sweet because Tripp is the star of the show, and that's all he has to do! I loved how Melissa's presentation showed how they can be authors using the tools they have available. Book them! You will not be sorry!

"Huggins Elementary was lucky enough to have Melissa and Tripp come to our campus to read her book “The Traveling Tuxedo: Space Center Houston”! The students were engaged and enjoyed making real life connections to their own experiences with dogs and adventures. The students were also able to share their knowledge of the writing process and how it helpful it can be when creating a writing piece in class. Our 1st and 3rd grade Terrell Koalas thoroughly enjoyed their visit with author Melissa and her special guest, Trippy! Melissa shared the journey of becoming an author, explaining the writing process, the stages of publishing a book, and how she researches Texas towns and landmarks to bring her stories to life. She even showed students how she uses Canva to help design some of the illustrations featured in her books. Our Koalas also had a blast participating in a fun Texas trivia game and learning fascinating facts about Space Center Houston. The highlight of the visit, however, was when Trippy made his grand appearance to meet the students. He was an absolute gentleman and quickly became a crowd favorite! We are so grateful for this memorable experience and can't wait to welcome Melissa and Trippy back for another visit. This author's visit is truly a must-have experience!

Our 2nd and 3rd graders LOVED The Traveling Tuxedo presentation! Mrs. Melissa and Trippy were amazing presenters who talked about their adventures in life and writing books. They connected relevant writing procedures with a fun animal character. My students were so excited to write afterwards and were able to help Trippy travel to Boerne soon after. Highly recommended and will continue to have both come visit as often as we can.

We absolutely loved having The Traveling Tuxedo visit our school! It was such a fun and memorable experience for our students, and they especially loved getting to meet Trippy! The best part is that the excitement didn’t end when the visit was over. Our students still ask about Trippy when they come into the library, which says so much about the impression he made on them. I also loved how the author incorporated her own writing process into the presentation. She gave students a glimpse into how an idea can grow and develop into a finished story and helped them see that writing is a process. Her message was so encouraging and helped our students understand that they can be writers and storytellers, too! It was wonderful to see our students so engaged and excited about books, reading, writing, and storytelling. Experiences like this are what make the library such a special place for our kids. We are so thankful for The Traveling Tuxedo Author Visit and the wonderful memories it created for our students. We would definitely recommend them to other schools and libraries looking for a fun, engaging, educational, and meaningful author visit!
